Uganda 2020 TripPosted on: 20/12/2018
In the summer of 2020, Lancaster will visit Uganda in a once in a life time opportunity for some students. Right at the very end of the summer term 2020 four students, from the current Y9, will visit Kampala. We are very lucky to be working with South Wigston High School who already have links and a partnership with The Family Primary School and Kiddawalime School in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The Family Primary School has approximately 400 children aged between 4 and 14 years of age. The students selected will be working in the classroom and coaching sport, forging links and supporting in the best ways that they can.. During the visit they will stay in a hotel, so hopefully it will not all be hard work.
Year 9s have had an assembly giving them much more detail than this, they have had the opportunity to apply in writing and on Wednesday 19th December were interviewed by Mrs Fisher and Ms Chohan, the trip leader. It will be a tough decision to make as to who goes as all the students represented themselves really well. We will be offering much more information about this in the new year as we will be seeking support from the whole community for our main charity fund raising of 2019 - UGANDA 2020.
Here are some photos of the students being interviewed.
