Bright Futures DayPosted on: 27/06/2019
On June 26th we held our third ‘Bright Futures’ day of the year which once again proved to be a resounding success. All year groups took part in activities throughout the day which involved them reflecting on making positive future choices as they move through education and into the world of work.
Our Year 7 students had an exciting day at Bradgate Park which involved lots of team building activities linking back to our school ethos of PRIDE. Year 8s were involved in a 'Rubbish Performance' which encouraged them to think about recycling and the future of our planet while providing them with opportunities to involve themselves in jobs relating to the creative industries. Our Year 9 and 10 students actively took part in a range of aspirational workshops where they gained an insight into a wide range of jobs and careers. During the afternoon a professional musician came in to school to talk about careers, aspiration and mental health and performed to the students.
We are now in the process of shortlisting fifty students to take on a rewards trip to London next term based on their progress, engagement and attitude to self-improvement towards their own ‘Bright Future’.
