Peace GardenPosted on: 27/06/2019
In the March Bright Futures Day activities Year 9 students were asked to research and design a peace garden to be built at Lancaster. This week saw those plans put into play with two groups of Year 9s donning their scruffs and grabbing spades, trowels and lots of concrete to build Lancaster’s version of a peace garden.
The contractors on site along with members of staff guided students in planting beds, building decking, laying bricks and creating decorative groundwork...happily the rain held off and a fantastic and productive day was had by all.
With final touches left to complete and some elaborate planting in the spring we aim to have the new space open for the VE Day celebrations in May next year with all the flowers in bloom making a calm and relaxing space for staff and students to enjoy!
