World Skills UKPosted on: 25/11/2019
On Friday 22nd November, Mrs Chohan & Miss Acton took a group of 45 Year 9 & 10 Computer Science and Business students to the World Skills UK Live event at the NEC.
The purpose of the trip was to raise aspirations of students into further education and the world of work. The event allowed students to “Have a Go” and learn a new skill for a number of different careers. The trip was highly beneficial in promoting a range of careers open to our students as well as a number of paths they could take to get into that line of work. There was a fantastic emphasis on STEM related careers which peaked the interests of a number of our students, with careers in engineering, robotics, cyber security, forensic sciences, just to name a few.
Our students were a credit to our school and their behaviour was exemplary.
