Sports LeadershipPosted on: 12/12/2019
Over the past 3 weeks The Lancaster Academy has had the opportunity to support at the School Sport & Physical Activity Network Key Stage 1 Festival. 10 Students from years 8-10 were selected based on their leadership at the Lancaster Academy.
The Lancaster leaders were given roles and responsibilities of leading some physical activity and nutrition activities to year 1 and 2 children.
It was the first leadership event for 6 of the leaders and like the other 4 they showed fantastic leadership skills, in particular their confidence and creativity with the children. Their teamwork with each other was also fantastic.
The leaders were able to engage and energise groups of 5, 6 and 7-year-old children. They used appropriate language and were able to use health and safety protocols to ensure the children were safe throughout the day. The leaders were able to conduct themselves in a professional manner throughout the event focusing on the basic principles and messages of a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating and leadership values through the delivery of the activities.
Overall all 10 students represented the Lancaster Academy superbly. The feedback I had from the staff which attended the event was phenomenal!
