Two Students, Five Languages!

What I love about Lancaster is that it is like having the world under one roof. So many cultures, so many languages, so many religions, so many smiles and all the laughter.  Meet Mohammed and Finlay, for instance, who both speak English. Nothing strange about that you may think, but between them they speak/understand five languages, four more than just the English that they have in common. Mohammed speaks English, Italian, Urdu and Punjabi, whilst Finlay speaks English and German. How fantastic. Mohammed was brought up in Italy and was educated in Italian up until the age of nine. He has learnt English over the last two years and is truly multi-lingual.

When you visit the academy, check out the flags in the foyer which show just how many countries students and staff come from - we are truly diverse!
