Year 11 Mock Interviews

Mock Interviews 24^th January - “A brilliant, informative experience”

As we ourselves know the thought of going to an interview can be quite daunting, now imagine you are sixteen years old and you have to do just that - in steps our careers programme and our mock interview event.

In collaboration with Connexions, our year 11 students went through a mock interview to help them prepare for the upcoming interviews for securing their places for the next stage in their education or training journey.

To ensure our students were prepared for the event, we looked at the conventions of interviewing with regards body language, the handshake, presentation and seating posture. It was an absolute pleasure to see our young men go into the hall and speak with assurance and confidence, clearly taking on board advice given in the preparation process.

We had eighteen representatives from Connexions completing the interviews and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They were struck by how mature, polite and engaging our students were. To quote one interviewer, “Students were excellent! Very interesting and interested in what they were doing. 100%. A credit to the school”.

Our students came out of the hall with a heightened level of confidence and the atmosphere in the room was focused and positive. Our students found the event very useful and beneficial, with comments like:

“I really enjoyed it.”

“A beneficial experience that has helped up prepare for future interviews”.
