World Book Day 2019

Over forty members of staff, teachers and support staff alike got glammed up for the nationwide event of World Book Day. Lancaster staff agreed to dress up as characters from their subject specialisms or favourite characters from their favourite book, all in the name of fun! Pupils were given the chance to take part in the school wide competition to guess who was who. The most correct guesses won them an Amazon gift voucher, which they could spend on a book of their choice!  Thursday 7^th March 2019 is certainly a day to remember – not only will it raise awareness of the variety of books available to read, it was also an opportunity for a school wide conversation about reading for pleasure. Adding to the positivity of the event, all the funds raised will go towards buying books for a local children’s hospital. Who wouldn’t be proud of being a member of The Lancaster Academy ?
