The Leicester Tigers Foundation Project Rugby Programme
Posted on: 07/09/2018As of May 2018, The Leicester Tigers Foundation “Project Rugby” Programme will have engaged over 4000 participants across 60 different schools in just less than two years. The primary aims of the delivery are to increase self-confidence, teamwork, social skills for students through ‘adapted’ rugby delivery. They also raise awareness of the power of sport within society through the Leicester Tiger’s Wheelchair Rugby Team in school assemblies.
The Lancaster Academy is delighted to be the first secondary school to take up the opportunity for its Y7 students to experience the Tigers “Project Rugby” programme. The first session starts Friday 7th of September with Josh Black from the club. 15 students, selected by head of year Mrs Lee will embark on a 6 week rugby course.
