Trip to SWHS

On Tuesday 17th September 55 students from the High Flyers group visited South Wigston High School in the first of series of lectures to inspire them to achieve highly. 

The speaker was Mike Williams who was appointed as sports presenter on the ‘Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2 in January 2019. He was born in Leicester and began his radio career volunteering at BBC Radio Leicester.  He has presented on some of the biggest sporting events in the UK; Olympic Games, Champions League Finals, Ashes Cricket, Wimbledon, 6 Nations Rugby, Tour de France and Heavyweight boxing.  He then held a question and answer session where the students asked him some very perceptive questions.

The students really enjoyed the experience and it gave them the opportunity to think about what they want to achieve in their lives.
