Winter Showcase!
Posted on: 19/12/2019It was the evening of Wednesday 18th of December and it was a wet night, enter into our winter show case and be warmed to the core by the multitude of acts on display.
We opened the with a bang, a year 7-8 band playing a Jethro Tull medley
Then we had two beautiful renditions of Christmas carols.
Followed closely by a stunningly emotive and inspirational poem.
We continued the show with a calm and considered performance from Sammy D (winner of second prize in our MAT talent show) and his band.
We next saw an amazing dance performed by the girls Zumba club.
Our third act Jake and Charlie wowed the audience with an energetic and pumping performance of the theme from pulp fiction.
The energy was brought back down for an intimate and sensitive singing performance by Imogen and Remi that left the audience lost for words.
Afterwards, we switched it up and had a hilarious comedy trio.
Consequently, Sammy’s technically challenging piece, which he had previously played at the MAT talent contest was received with a rapturous round of applause, was the next song to be featured.
There was then a very scary moment as we were taken into the ‘Horror House’ by our Drama club.
Following this, was perhaps the loudest performance ever witnessed, with our two star drummers performing in a drum off.
We finished the show strongly with a powerful soaring version of “Feeling Good” performed by the Orisunayo band.
Every student involved put so much hard work into doing their best in the show and that could clearly be seen by the amazing music, drama, art, dance and poetry they produced. They really made us all very proud!
Every act was amazing and well received by the audience and it was definitely a night to remember for a long time.
We would like to thanks all students, staff who were involved, families, friends and the community that came to support our talented students.
We greatly look forward to the summer for our next big show.
