Careers Fair

In the age of Zoom and Teams meetings it is fantastic that, at last, we were able to welcome back visitors to Lancaster Academy from the world of business and higher education.

As communication, goals and networking were the overriding themes for the day for our year 10 and 11 students, it meant that theory could be translated into practice as they navigated their way around the sports hall venue for our annual careers fair.

At the fair, they got the opportunity to interact with adult professionals and develop their formal speaking skills, ways to promote themselves positively and ultimately find out as much as possible about what options are out there for them in their short, medium and long term futures.

It was a busy positive and purposeful atmosphere and it was terrific to see how engaged our students were with being proactive about their future. As Amari, a year 10 student said: “I am so happy that this is on. This will prepare us for life!”
