Year 7 Town Planning

On the 30^th September 2021 all Year 7 students at Lancaster Academy had the opportunity to be Town Planners for the morning.  A team consisting of architect, Spencer Guy from Levitate, Senior Development Manager Lauren Tyrell from the Leicester City Council and Faye Haldane Business Relationship Director from Pick Everards came to talk about their careers and a project they are working on to improve the local area in Leicester.

Students then designed their own Happy Place so that they could give suggestions to the town planners about what could be built into the project.

Students will be visiting the site on our next READY for the Future day and will follow progress of the development over the next three years.

All students contributed positively on the day, demonstrating respect and worked well together to develop their employability skills such as active listening, working collaboratively, being creative and being Young Ambassadors.
