Poppy Pilgrimage 2021

Posted on: 09/11/2021

Two of our students were amongst the guests who took part in the Poppy Pilgrimage which was filmed by the BBC yesterday at All Saints Church.  It is a commemorative project to honour all those who lost their lives during the First World War.   Alfie Carter wrote and read his poem about remembering all of those who had lost their lives as he and our Principal Ambassador Dane Francis lay a wreath.  Leicester University invited students to the event which was a fantastic opportunity for them to recognise the sacrifice made by so many in conflict.

This week our students have had Remembrance Assemblies and students in years 7-9 have been learning about the importance of remembrance. They have been designing poppies and writing poetry in recognition of  lives lost in the pursuit of peace.
