Year 7 Book Author Visit

Today, students in Year 7 were visited by children's author Sue Chueng to talk about her book Chinglish. Students were treated to a talk, Q&A session and book signing, with books being kindly donated to every student in Year 7 by the Book Trust. 

Chueng's semi-autobiographical book Chinglish tells the story of a teenager girl growing up in Coventry in the 1980s. The book's protagonist Jo Kwan lives above her parents' Chinese takeaway and the title comes for the mix of Chinese and English Jo has to use in order to communicate with her parents and the world around her. 

The students were very exited to meet the author and had lots of questions to ask!
